Howe, (202)690-5552 The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)/Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) has a requirement for a study of Medicare home health practice variations. The purpose of this contract will be to describe and assess the actual practice of home health care under the Medicare benefit, the extent to which there is variation on practice, and the factors accounting for such variation. The results of the study will be of major interest to ASPE, the Health Care Financing Administration, Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, National Institute of Nursing Research and the National Institute of Aging among others.
