MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL PROJECTS, NAVAL WEAPONS STATION, CHARLESTON, SC

Specialist. Engineering Services for various mechanical/electrical
projects at the Naval Weapons Station, Charleston, SC. The contract
will be for an indefinite quantity of A/E services for mechanical and
electrical projects which may include (1) preparation of engineering
studies, analysis, reports, and cost estimates as designated; (2)
preparation of detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for
designated construction projects; (3) preparation of plans using
Autocad release 12 or better and submitted as hard copies along with
1.2, 3 1/2 inch disks; (4) specificatons shall be backed up on disk in
compatible WordPerfect format; (5) all work shall be tied to
established horizontal and vertical control points which are based on
M.S.L. Datum and the State Line Plane Coordinate System; (6) cost
estimates may be required in a computer assisted cost estimating system
(CACES) format; (7) work involving asbestos may be encountered; (8) all
necessary permits and applications shall be completed for projects as
appropriate. The contract will be indefinite quantity type where orders
will be placed on an ``as required'' basis intermittently which shall
not exceed 12 months or $200,000. The A/E fee per project shall not
exceed $100,000. The contract shall contain an option to renew for one
additional year or an additional $200,000 whichever comes first. There
will be a guaranteed minimum of $10,000 for this contract. Selection
will be based on the following criteria which are numbered in order of
importance: (1) Recent specialized experience of the proposed team in
Mechanical and Electrical Engineering projects. (2) Professional
qualifications of present staff of the firm and consultants if any; (3)
Ability to provide all information using the ACADD system; (4) Quality
control program of the firm; (5) Past experience, if any, with respect
to performance on Department of Defense contracts; (6) Volume of work
previously awarded to the firm by OICC WPNSTA Charleston with the
objective of effecting equitable distribution of contracts among
qualified firms; (7) Location of the firm in the general geographic
area of the project, provided that there is an appropriate number of
qualified firms therein for consideration. A-E firms which meet the
requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit
completed SF-254 (unless already on file) and SF-255, U.S. Government
Architect-Engineer Qualifications, to the office shown above. Firms
responding by 27 June 1995 will be considered. This is not a request
for a proposal. Any inquiries (including submission of SF-255's) should
