20310-5200 B -- COMMUNICATIONS AND ENLISTMENT DECISIONS-YOUTH ATTITUDE TRACKING
STUDY POC Contact Debbie Smith, (703)695-2563/Contract Specialist The
Defense Supply Service-Washington, on behalf of the Office of the
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, intends to negotiate a seven (7)
month (bridge) modification with Westat, Inc. under Contract Number
MDA903- 90-C-0236. This is a sole source action under the authority of
10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. Technical objectives are as
follows: A half-hour computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) will
be administered to a national sample of approximately 10,000 youth
between the ages of 16 and 24 regarding their attitudes toward military
service (including specific branch or component preference), plans for
the next few years, goals in life, interests, media habits, and
awareness of military advertising. This is an ongoing study that has
been conducted every year since 1975 with annual modifications. The
purpose of the survey is to provide the Armed Services with market data
that enables them to more accurately target advertising and recruiting
activities to appeal to potential recruit populations. The project
includes design and selection of the sample, modification of the survey
instrument, questionnaire administration, compilation and weighing of
the data, production of preliminary and public use data tapes and the
preparation of documentation. The administration of 10,000 interviews
must be conducted over a period of approximately eight weeks, beginning
in September 1995. A Statement of Work is not available. Capability
statements from interested parties are not requested, and shall not be
accepted. (0150) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0009 19950531\B-0001.SOL)
