Service has a requirement for the purchase, installation, and
maintenance of the telecommunications system for the Indian Health
Service's new Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) complex located in
Anchorage, Alaska. The complex includes three main components: the new
150-bed Medical Center (approximately 345,000 square feet); a 59-bed
hostel (19,000 square feet); and a Center for Disease Control
Laboratory located directly north of the new medical center (12,000
square feet). There will be in excess of 1500 rooms. This acquisition
is being conducted under the authority of the Buy Indian Act and is,
therefore, set aside for Indian-owned firms. Indian majority ownership
necessary to qualify for this acquisition is 51%. Joint ventures
between Indian firms and others are permitted in meeting the
Government's requirement. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be
available approximately 15 days from the date of this publication. All
requests for this RFP must be in writing, referencing RFP 213-95-0015,
