36 -- GREEN SAND SHAKEOUT SYSTEM SOL F04699-95-R-0171 DUE 071095 POC For copy, contact the info office indicated., For additional information contact Melby.K8s/Pkocc/916-643-3795 Item 0001 NSN 3680-P -SND-SHKOUT McClellan AFB is purchasing a green sand shakeout system consisting of a high frequency shakeout unit and a vibratory conveyor. The system shall separate gray iron, ductile iron and aluminum thin walled castings, weighing up to 250 pounds each, from their green sand molds. The system shall handle at least 36'' X 24'' X 28'' sand molds and their associated castings at a rate of 60 molds per hour. 1ea. Applicable to: Cerp Program. Delivery: 30 APR 96 1 ea Item 0002 (continuation of Item 0001 above--not separate item) The shakeout unit design shall have capacity to handle up to and including 50 tons per hour of sand and up to and including 6.25 ton per hour of castings. The approximate size of the shakeout unit is four (4) feet wide by twelve (12) feet long. (Note: prior to shakeout, the molds have been punched out of the flasks; therefore, the shakeout unit will not receive any flasks). The shakeout unit shall operate in the frequency range of 900 to 1,800 cycles per minute with a stroke length in the range of 3/8 to 1/8 inches respectively. The shakeout system shall include an approximately 10 feet long by 4 feet long vibratory casting feeder conveyor. The vibratory conveyor shall allow castings to be accumulated and subsequently picked up by a manipulator or manually loaded onto a government provided trolley conveyor spinner-hanger cleaning system. The vibratory conveyor shall include a suitable removable end stop to prevent the hot castings from falling on the floor if not picked up immediately. The upper deck shall be sound deadened and perforated to allow granulated sand to fall to a government provided, pit mounted sand collection conveyor under the shakeout system. The shakeout discharge and vibratory casting feeder inlet to include matching transition finger sections to allow level transfer of castings from one unit to the other. Descriptions, quantities, locations are based on the best available data at the time. This is an ALL OR NONE requirement, and includes training, spares, installation assistance, and maintenance. All responsible sources may submit a proposal/quotation that shall be considered by the Agency. It is the intent of the Government to purchase a commercially available sand shakeout system, without the need for new development; therefore, the contractor shall be required to demonstrate that they have produced and sold sand shakeout systems for a minimum of three (3) years. Any response should state whether your organization (together with its affiliates) is a large or small business and whether it is a small disadvantaged business. All requests must state that they are not currently on the consolidated list of debarred, suspended and ineligible contractors or otherwise ineligible to receive Government contracts. An Ombudsman has been appointed for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate his/her concern during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.
