scheduled bid opening. The work includes updating all architectural
finishes, upgrade the building to meet handicapped accessibility
requirements, complete window and door replacement, replacement of
mechanical (HVAC) system, upgrade of electrical system, including
additional circuitry to accommodate new technology, establish security
lighting system in poles, detached from the building, repair site
drainage system, replace landscaping and rear parking area, repair
deterioration of the some of the roof trusses, include a comprehensive
interior design package showing furnishings, artwork and office
landscaping. Work also includes investigate the feasibility of
relocating the latrines to a centralized location, investigate the
feasibility of relocating the attic stairs, investigate the feasibility
of locating the new elevator on the exterior of the building, maintain
historic character of the building's exterior. The proposed
acquisition listed herein is being considered for 100% Set-Aside for
Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Concerns. Interested SDB Concerns
should notify this office in writing, Attn: Code 0212DT of their
intention to bid the project as Prime Contractor as early as possible
but no later than 06 JUNE 95. This notification must include a positive
statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically
disadvantaged business concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required
bonds and specific information which demonstrates the capability to
perform projects of this complexity and magnitude. Complete information
concerning management experience in similar work and financial status
should be submitted with references. If adequate interest is not
received from SDB Concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an
unrestricted basis. In either event, an amended synopsis will be issued
indicating set-aside decision and Bid Opening Date. An amended synopsis
will be issued at a later date establishing the Bid Opening Date.
Estimated cost is $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Estimated duration
of the contract is 240 calendar days for completion from date of award.
