No. 503/465-6506. A project to provide monitoring and analysis of a
pool complexity study and to generate a report in the form of a
Master's thesis. The goal of this Pool Complexity Study is to determine
if increasing levels of large woody debris volume, structure, and
complexity in pool habitats increases aquatic vertebrate abundance. It
is the intent of the government to award this contract to Oregon State
University pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Dr. Stan Gregory and the
OSU Stream Team have conducted the baseline surveys of the Pool
Complexity Study and have the expertise and the technology to store and
generate the necessary analyses. Dr. Gregory assisted in the design of
the study, which is the sister project of the Camp Creek Pool
Complexity Study on a coastal stream in Oregon. He and the OSU Stream
Team have monitored the Camp Creek project and are producing the
project report. The OSU Stream Team under Dr. Gregory has the
experience, equipment, and capability of providing the USFS a high
quality analysis and assessment that will insure the technical accuracy
and completeness of the Pool Complexity Study monitoring and report
production. Estimated start date is July 3, 1995. Contract performance
