The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to procure through other than full and open competition various Hughes Aircraft Company spare components in support of the Laser Target Designator/Ranger Test Set used to test the AN/AAM 38 FLIR. The spares being procured are: Cable Assembly (1362311), Shroud Laser (1362295) and Shield Assembly (1362297-1 and 1362297-2). Inspection and acceptance is at Origin. Delivery is to Beaufort, SC and San Diego, CA 6 months after date of contract. The purpose of this acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to procure from the manufacturer of the cited part numbers, Hughes Aircraft Company, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 and under an approved Justification and Approval. Firms that can recognize and produce the required items described are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0137)
