The Air Force intends to enter into negotiations with Martin Marietta Technologies, Inc., Denver, Colorado, to restructure the Medium Launch Vehicle II Production and Launch Services contract to accomodate the deferment of up to four launches already procured under the basic contract. This action includes options for launch processing, launch site support, reflight provision, and vehicle storage, and will extend the period of performance to December 2001 if all options are exercised. The contract restructure is necessary due to the deferment of two launches from CY 1996 and CY 1997 to planned dates in CY 1999 and CY 2000, respectively. Two other launches already procured on this contract are covered in the event they are deferred beyond December 1997. No additional launches will be procured. This effort was previously synopsized in the 21 October 1994 publication of the Commerce Business Daily. This is not a request for proposal. Release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated on or about 26 May 1995.
