Officer, (703) 305-2250. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Center
for Nutrition Policy and Promotion anticipates issuing a competitive
procurement for advisory and assistance services to develop and test
menus and recipes based on the updated Thrifty Food Plan market basket
list. Four one-week menus will be developed, and approximately 50
recipes will be developed, prepared, and evaluated in a food laboratory
for sensory quality by taste panelists. Both menus and recipes will be
evaluated for overall acceptability by food stamp households in their
own homes. All phases of menu and recipe development, and the
household evaluation for acceptability will be performed between
September 29, 1995 and April 30, 1996. The contractor will prepare a
detailed research plan outlining each phase of the work to be
conducted. All tasks will be completed by April 30, 1996. The estimated
level of effort for this project is 2.13 person years over a 7-month
period. Parties interested in receiving a copy of the Request for
Proposal when it is issued MUST submit their request in writing and
MUST include four (4) self-addressed mailing labels. Telephone or faxed
