0186-95--The U.S. Army Missile Command intends to procure Depot
Maintenance Plant Equipment (DMPE) for repair of the AVENGER Laser
Range Finder, and components. The hardware will be procured under a
Firm Fixed Price Contract Line Item Number (CLIN); and the engineering
services effort will be procured under a Cost Plus Fixed Fee CLIN. The
basic contract will be awarded for the procurement of hardware, spares
and 2978 manhours of engineering services. The contract will also
contain a 2978 manhour option for the second year, plus a 2000 manhour
range option that will be exercised, if required. The period of
performance is 24 months after contract award. The AVENGER TDP contains
limited and proprietary rights to Boeing and their subcontractors. The
Laser Range Finder, part number 2988501-1, is a subassembly of the
AVENGER Weapon System and is produced by Texas Instruments as a
subcontractor to Boeing. The engineering drawings and other technical
data required to effect repair of the Laser Range Finder are protected
by a ''Limited Rights'' statement. Therefore, Texas Instruments is the
only source available that has the test equipment and procedures
capable of performing depot level repairs to unserviceable Laser Range
Finders. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be
