material and equipment necessary for the Drydock Repairs to the USCGC
SENECA. WOrk for these drydock repairs is to be performed at the
contracotr's facility. The work which may be performed includes but not
limited to the following miminum items: 1. Service Both Onboard
Controllable Pitch Propeller System 2. Remove, inspeect, and reinstall
propeller shafts. 3. Overhaul, renew and Test Valves 4. Service Rudder
Assemblies 5. Inpsect and repair Fin Stabilizer System 6. Renew Fin
Stabilizer Assemblies 7. Preserve Voids and Ballast Tanks 8. Modify
Auxiliary Salt Seals and Bearings 9. Preserve Superstructure 10.
Preserve Freeboard. Proposed contract will also contain indefinte items
including, but not limited to: 1. Weldind repairs 2. Remove, inspect
and reinstall Intermediate shaft 3. Renew Shaft Covering 4. Straighten
Shaft 5. Renew Shaft Sleeves 8. Preserve diesel fuel and JP-5 Fuel
Tanks 9. Preserve underwater body 10. Ultrasonic Testing -- USCGC
SENECA homeport is Boston, MA--Vessel is 270 feet in lenght--USCGC
SENECA's Availibility schedule is 28 August 1995--There will be a
non-refundable charge required in the form of a certified check or
money order madepayable to the US Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00
for requested drawings and publications--The Proposed contract listed
here is opened to both large and small business--Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 31 May 1995--All responsible
sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the US Coast
Guard. For minority, women-owned and disadvantage business
enterprisess: The Department of Transportation (DOT) office of small
and disadvantage business utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantage business enterprises to aquire short-term
working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates upto $500,000.00 per contract to provide
accounts receivable financing. The DOT bonding assistance program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment upto $500,000
