The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), FAA Technical Center, intends on entering into a sole source contract with EG&G Ortec, Inc. for an electronic cooling system for a 30% efficiency high-purity germanium detector. EG&G has been chosen to provide the cooling system because the Government already owns an EG&G Ortec POPTOP detector and requires a compatible electronic cooling system. The purpose of this announcement is to inform the public of the Government's plan to enter into a non-competitive procurement. A solicitation will be issued to EG&G on or around June 5, 1995.
