66 -- X-RAY SPECTROMETER SYSTEM SOL 52SBNB5C8728 DUE 062395 POC Elaine Libman (301) 975-6331, Pauline Mallgrave (301) 975-6330 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the provision and installation of a new or reconditioned x-ray spectrometer system. The system shall include a six month parts and labor warranty with technical support and shall provide two days of training for four people. The spectrometer shall: be an x-ray spectrometer capable of operating in air (heavy elements) or in a blanketing gas (light elements), with a multiple (minimum six) crystal holder and one LiF l.0.0 crystal; have a collimator changer capable of at least two positions; be a system with two vacuum pumps which allows independent control of vacuum in the specimen chamber, including a filter aperture changer, with an aluminum filter, and two chromium x-ray tubes and one molybdenum x-ray tube; include hardware that allows control of the power generator, and; have a system which allows complete control of the pulse height through computer or manual control. In addition, the system shall have: a high voltage generator that provides a source of power to the x-ray tube; one water to water heat exchanger to provide cooling water to the high voltage generator and the x-ray tube; the following measuring electronics - two high voltage supplies, one compact channel, one timer scaler, one impulse scope, a counter/timer; software to drive the instrument and analyze the data, and; a manual that provides the system code (commands) to allow computer control of the unit. Delivery shall be within 30 days, FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland--It is anticipated that the award will be a firm fixed price contract.
