Officer, (303) 236-5900 x321 Purchase of 2000 feet (610m) of Heater
Tubing to be used in the collection of subsurface vapor-phase samples.
The tubing shall be supplied in increments of one each 1000 feet
(330.5m), one each 500 feet (152.5m), two each 200 feet (61m), and one
each 100 feet (30.5)m). Tubing shall be deployed in 6- to 9 inch
(152-229mm) dry, uncased boreholes, strapped or clamped to steel
tubing. Maximum OD shall be two inches (51mm) or less. The heater
tubing shall contain an inner transit tubing fabricated from Teflon
PFA, having a minimum ID of 0.25-0.375 inch (6.4-9.5 mm). Transit
tubing connections between increments shall be via standard stainless
steel tubing connections. Heater tubing construction shall include
sufficient insulation and a self-limiting or constant-load heating
element to achieve and maintain a temperature of 50+2oC. Heating
element design and incorporation shall be such that electric power is
supplied to any combination of the requisite increments via a single,
surface-established connection. A suitable means of surface- based
temperature regulation shall be included. The heater tubing shall be
sheathed with a protective material such as extruded polyvinyl chloride
or polypropylene. Delivery FOB Mercury, NV, 45 days after date of
contract. IFB 5-6042 to be issued on or about May 19, 1995 with bid
opening 30 days thereafter. All responsible sources may submit an offer
