McDaniel, Contracting Officer The Navy requires an additional 418 each Miniature/Microminiature (2M)- Surface Mounted Technology (SMT) rework stations to enhance the existing 2M repair capability unique to SMT. A station comprises a basic power unit and auxiliary heating/preheating unit contained in a corrosion resistant metal chassis, and a tip/temperature selection system. The procurement will be solicited on a sole-source basis to Pace, Inc., 9893 Brewer's Court, Laurel, MD 20723-1990 as a modification to increase the maximum quantity under contract N00164-94-D-0022. The units will be procured within the 3-year ordering period established in the contract. Procurement is sole-sourced in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 based upon stations being compatible with existing Fleet equipment previously procured under competitively issued solicitation. See Note 22.
