Miley Sutherland, at 406/329-3530. The U.S. Department of Agriculture,
Forest Service, Northern Region intends to acquire FS-14 Smokejumper
Parachutes. Indefinite Quantity contract; minimum - 657; maximum -
1000. Design and drawings provided by the Forest Service. Parachutes
are of three sizes; small, medium, and large. Contractor shall supply
additional repair assemblies and materials. First Article Sample
required by 09/15/95. Delivery Order will be placed on, or about,
10/1/95. The following standards apply to delivery items: MIL-P-6645H
Parachutes, Personnel, General Specification for; MIL-STD-849A
Inspection Requirements, Definitions and Classification of Defects for
Parachutes; and MIL-I-45208A Inspection System Requirements. The
quality assurance provisions of the contract will be supported by a
DCASMA representative. Complete test reports that certify compliance of
component materials controlled by a military specification will be
delivered to the Forest Service for review and acceptance before
production begins. Material finisher must be listed with DLA Defense
Personnel Support Center as being equipped and staffed to perform the
specified testing defined in the military specifications for component
materials. Initial delivery of 50 units due 90 days after material
certificates of compliance are accepted by the Forest Service.
Deliveries of 150 units due every 30 days thereafter. FOB Destination:
Missoula, MT. Firm, fixed price contract. Solicitation to be released
on or about 05/15/95. Solicitation is a Request For Proposals. A
Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on 06/01/95, in Missoula, MT.
