Qualified Sources Sought, SOL RFP 3589-POS-CSS. MK Ferguson Company
(MK-F), is currently performing work under a Department of Energy Prime
Contract at the Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP)
located in St. Charles, Missouri. Qualified sources are being sought
for the supply of several types of process equipment to be used in the
construction of a Chemical Stabilization/Solidification Plant (CSS).
Interested qualified parties should have the ability to construct
equipment in accordance with hard specifications and stringent quality
control procedures. Following is a brief description of the general
types of equipment anticipated to be required under these procurement
actions: (5) PROGRESSIVE CAVITY PUMPS: Require three progressive cavity
pumps capable of pumping 120 gpm of thixotropic sludge against
discharge head of 20 psig. Particle size of material is one-quarter
inch maximum. Drive mechanism to be capable of variable speed operation
and supplied with pump. Conditions of service are non-corrosive and
mildly abrasive. Estimated value is over $45K (SIC 3561). (6) PISTON
PUMPS: Require two hydraulic driven piston pumps capable of pumping
chemically stabilized grout at a rate of 100 cubic yards per hour.
Units to be complete with electric driven hydraulic system, pump, and
feed induction systems. Systems to be capable of producing discharge
pressure of up to 2000 psig. Conditions of service will be abrasive but
non-corrosive. Estimated value is over $300K (SIC 3561). (10)
COMPRESSORS: Require one instrument air system. Unit to provide dry
(minus 40 deg. F), oil free air at 60 scfm. Unit to provide dry (minus
40 deg. F), oil free air at 60 scfm. Unit to be supplied with
compressor, filters, dryer, receiver vessel, and appropriate
instrumentation. Estimated value is over $20K. Require two process air
compressors. Units to compress 100 scfm to 250 psig on continuous
basis. Package to include prefilters, condensate knockout vessel,
compressors, motors, and instrumentation. Estimated value is over $70K
(SIC 3563). (15) CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS: Multiple (8-12) centrifugal pumps
will be required for both slurry and water service. Capacity of slurry
service pumps will range from 350 gpm to 750 gpm. Capacity for water
service pumps will vary from 50 gpm to 175 gpm. Estimated value is over
$50K (SIC 3561). It is anticipated that the proposal packages for the
above noted equipment will be issued for bid between May 1995 and
January 1996. Only full proposals for each numbered package will be
solicited under this procurement. Abbreviated pre-proposals will not be
accepted. It is anticipated that the type of award will be firm fixed
price for each numbered package will be solicited under this

equipment packages shall submit a letter of request indicating the item
number and package description for each bid package requested. Since
this is a set-aside for small business, letters of request shall also
include a statement verifying that the organization is a small business
