Work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, supervision and performing all work in strict accordance with specifications for the replacement of the pressure reducing station and associated controls, air compressor, piping in existing tunnel, etc, located in the building baement as well as in the steam manhole and associated tunnel approximately 160 feet west of the building. Replacement shall include the removal of all asbestos containing insulation and disposal of the same in a legal manner. All new lines, valves, etc shall be properly marked and labelled as to flow and pipe contents. A flow diagram showing sequence of operation of the new PRV station, and all associated pressures, flow, etc as well as valve numbers shall be mounted on the wall of the manhole and the basement steam room in oak frames under glass. Installation of new insulation on existing exposed lines as well as installation of new control valves and upgrading traps on existing steam cast iron radiators. Provide new controls for the museum areas and installation of rigid insulation with vapor barriers on the underside of the existing corrugated metal roof. A liminted amount of piping and radiation removal in the basement, new lighting installed in the existing steam manhole. The magnitude of this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000 and is subject to availability of funds. Contractor to commence work five calendar days after notice to proceed and complete not later than one hundred eighty (180) calendar days after notice to proceed.
