Contracting Officer. Provide Contractor operated Contractor owned
laundry services including sorting and washing all linens, Operating
Room Linens, uniforms and patient personal clothing for the VAMC Reno,
Nevada. Services to include: (a) Transportation of soiled linens from
VAMC to Contractor facility and return of clean laundry to VAMC, (b)
services will be provided within a five (5) day work week, specifically
Monday thru Friday. Estimated workload per week is 10,000 to 12,000
lbs. Transportation vehicle(s) to be used will require a hydraulic lift
gate for delivery to VAMC's Building 2. Vehicle shall be enclosed and
shall be sanitized per accepted industry standards. Vehicle's driver
will be required to assist VA personnel with loading/unloading.
Employee uniforms and patient's personal clothing shall be
pre-conditioned after the wash process to approximately 90% moisture
extracted. All items will be properly hung and sent through a steam
tunnel for completion. The steam tunnel currently in use, Western
Automation Corp. ``Vibra-Steamer'' or equivalent will be acceptable.
Pressing of employee uniforms and patient's personal clothing,
eliminating the steam tunnel process will not be considered as an
acceptable alternative. Estimated weekly volume of uniforms and
patient's personal clothing is 280 to 400 lbs. (soiled). All flatwork
items shall be returned in a folded state. Interested contractors
should indicate your interest in writing to the Contracting Officer by
