Title and number of pages of the notified document: Explanatory Notes - Application A224 - Fibre in Bread (2 pages) 6. Description of content: An application to amend the Australian Food Standards Code to remove inconsistency between the conditions for fibre claims for breads in the Code and in an Industry Code of Practice for Advertisements. 7. Objective and rationale: Promotion of Fair Trade. 8. Relevant documents: Australian Food Standards Code Standard B1 - Cereals, Legumes, Flours, Meals and Breads and Code of Practice on Nutrient Claims in Food Labels and in Advertisements. 9. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: Recommendation to Government by 25 July 1995, and entry into force to be decided. 10. Final date for comments: The domestic closing date for comments is 3 May 1995, however comments from Members will be accepted until 26 May 1995 if notice of intention to comment is received by the domestic closing date.
