is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.

responsible: Trade and Industry Branch. 3. Notified under Article
2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise
national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where
applicable): Consumer goods which are defined as goods ordinarily
supplied for private use or consumption, including the packaging in
which the consumer goods are supplied. Goods set out in the attached
Annex are exempted. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified
document: Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance - total 44 pages. 6.
Description of content: The Ordinance imposes a statutory duty on
manufacturers, importers and suppliers of certain consumer goods to
ensure that the consumer goods they supply are safe. 7. Objective and
rationale: To protect consumers from unsafe consumer goods. 8. Relevant
documents: Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance. 9. Proposed date of
adoption and entry into force: Enacted on 20 October 1994, scheduled to
enter into force in October 1995. 10. Final date for comments: 30 June
