COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 27,1995 PSA#1334SLOVAK REPUBLIC: TESTING REGULATIONS The following notification is
being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 95.97.
1. Member to Agreement notifying: SLOVAK REPUBLIC. If applicable, name

responsible: Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (UNMS
SR). 3. Notified under Article 5.6.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN
where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be
provided in addition, where applicable): Mechanized tools (8467), light
building cranes, climbing equipment (8426; 8431), machines and devices
used in civil engineering for proportioning the components, mixtures
preparation, transport and storage, pipings, maintenance, renewal,
cleaning, performing basic functions (8428; 8474; 8479; 8474; 8705;
8462; 8464; 8467; 8479), stone saws, stone grinding and polishing
machines (8464), wooden ladders and fittings (4418). 5. Title and
number of pages of the notified document: Decree UNMS SR 95/1995 of 2
January Via Which the Products for Obligatory Certification at the
Technical and Testing Institute of Building in Bratislava are
Specified. 6. Description of content: The proposed technical
regulations state the examining of mechanical, fire and electrical
safety, hygienic irreproachability, health and environmental
protection, safety at work and energy saving and subsequent
certification of conformity of these products to the specified
technical standards and legislative regulations. 7. Objective and
rationale: The reason for introducing the obiligatory testing instead
of current obligatory products type approval is to harmonize the
conformity certification system valid in the countries of EU and EFTA
(according to so called ``Global Approach to Certification and
Testing'' of 13 June 1989). The aim of introducing these regulations is
to reach full compatibility of the procedure for the conformity
certification of products in accordance with the EU directives, which
subsequently will ensure the mutual recognition of certificates. 8.
