53 -- ORDALT 16231 KITS AND INTERIM SPARES SOL N00164-95-R-0136 DUE 061595 POC Denise Bush, Contract Specialist, (502) 364-5837 or Annabelle Woody, Contracting Officer, (502) 364-5837. The Government intends to procure via full and open competition ORDALT 16231 Kits and Interim Spares for the MK 75 76mm L.W. Gun Mount. The production quantity required for ORDALT 16231 is (113) kits with an additional option quantity of (01) kit, if exercised. The production quantity required for the Interim Spares is (24) kits with an additional option quantity of (02) kits, if exercised. Kits contain one set of extractors. Extractors are complex, drop forged machined, MIL-S-46850, Grade 300 steel, approximately 160mm x 83mm x 80mm wide. After machining Extractors must be simultaneously aged hardened and nitrided to obtain a core hardness of 48-54 Rockwell C and a case hardness of 56 Rockwell C. Other ORDALT kit items consist of springs, bushings, washers and other hardware items. The (24) Interim Spare kits consist of the extractors and springs. This requirement included First Article Testing by the Government. The first article requirement is for two (02) ORDALT 16231 kits plus (01) each P/N 5520692 and 5520693 for destructive tests. Contractor will also be required to submit data in accordance with the Contract Data Requirements List, DD Form 1423-1 (First Article Test Procedures and Test Reports, Production Test Procedures and Test Reports, and Forging, Material and Process Certification). Delivery shall be FOB Destination to the Receiving Officer, Code 1131, Bldg V, NAVSURFWARCEN ORDSTA Louisville KY. The required delivery schedule for ORDALT 16231 is two (2) first article kits within 240 days after date of contract award with the production quantity within 480 days after date of contract award. The ORDALT 16231 Interim Spares are required within 480 days after date of contract award. The option quanitities, if exercised, will continue immmediately after and at the same rate as the production quantity. This is a first time buy, no procurement history is available. Based on contractual agreement between US Navy and Oto Melara, offerors are restricted to U.S. companies and Oto Melara only.
