The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to contract with Westinghouse Electric Corporation (WEC), Sunnyvale, CA for the FY 96 TRIDENT II (D5) expendable launcher hardware requirement. WEC is the sole source designer, developer, and producer of the TRIDENT II (D5) launcher subsystem and is considered the only source capable of providing this hardware requirement within existing cost and schedule limitations.
