This project consists of furnishing labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for masonry restoration, reroofing, and asbestos abatement. The masonry work includes removal and resetting of perimeter precast concrete panels, replacement of deteriorated precast concrete panels, brick masonry tuckpointing and removal and installation of scalant. Reroofing includes removal of existing roof membrane and insulation as indicated, re-insulation and reroofing with new gravel-surfaced four-ply roof membrane. New sheet metal flashings are to be installed and some asbestos-containing roofing materials are to be removed and disposed of. Areas to be reroofed total approximately 890 squares. The asbestos abatement work includes the removal of asbestos-containing spray-applied fireproofing and thermal system insulation, demolition and replacement of suspended ceiling systems and lighting, reinstallation of fireproofing and thermal system insulation, and on-site monitoring of the asbestos abatement. The estimated cost range is between $1,600,000 and $1,700,000. There will not a formal preproposal conference.
