review the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Prevention
Draft Work Statement in order to have a more complete understanding of
the requirements. The U.S. Department of Education seeks to procure a
contractor to operate the Higher Center for Alcohol and Other Drug
Prevention. The Center's mission is to combat drug use and abuse and
the consequences associated with it in American colleges and
universities through use of prevention strategies. Center activities
wil include providing training and technical assistance on alcohol and
other drug use and prevention for IHEs; developing and distributing
information materials; providing support for the Network of Colleges
and Universities Committed to the Elimination of Drug and Alcohol
Abuse; and conducting evaluation and assessment activities. The Draft
Work Statement wil be available through the Ed Board computer bulletin
board on or about April 26, 1995. Printed copies are not available. ED
Board is accessible to all callers. There are no -preregistration
requirements or user charges(except for long distance telephone costs).
