POC Contract Specialist, Brenda J. Raphelt, (601)631-7905. Sources Sought - Procurement of a stabilized platform for Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) Satellite Communications on the Dredge Jadwin. The manufacturer of the system shall have been in business for a minimum period of 4 years. VSAT service is being provided to the Dredge Jadwin by AT&T Tridom. The stabilized platform to be provided under this solicitation must be compatible with AT&T Tridom's Clearlink System 400 VSAT and must be able to mount a Prodelin 2.4 meter antenna. Contractor shall provide a detailed interpretation of how the requirements will be met. The stabilized platform must be capable of automatically acquiring and tracking the proper satellite with no human intervention. The stabilized platform must also be capable of reacquiring the proper satellite with no human intervention when the vessel passes under obstructions, such as a bridge. Up to four hours of training must be provided to instruct users in the operation of the stabilized platform. The stabilized platform must be able to survive without a radome in winds with speeds up to 100 MPH with a 2.4 meter antenna attached. Firms that can provide the required item are encouraged to identify themselves to the Contracting Officer.
