This synopsis describes the requirement, in general terms, for eight (8) portable receiving antenna systems intended for temporary installation on Navy ships for telemetry reception from ship launched missiles. It shall be usable with any receiving system, requiring only a connection for AC power and two transmission lines for connection to Navy receiving equipment. The antenna shall employ a dual polarized feed providing orthogonal, linear outputs (vertical and horizontal polarizations) which will connect to Navy dual channel receiver/combiner equipment. The antenna shall include a rotating mechanism providing for manual steering of the antenna in both azimuth and elevation planes, simultaneously. A handle shall be provided to facilitate pointing of the antenna. The antenna system disassembles into four components (antenna, power supply, az/el mechanism, and mast). A transit case with foam cutouts for the four components shall be supplied by the contractor for shipping/storage of the antenna system. Specific salient characteristics shall be provided in the statement of work included in the solicitation. This requirement shall be processed as a 100% set-aside for small businesses.
