(BEP) is seeking market information and potential sources to supply an
electronic system to read the serial number of the top note on straps
(100 banded notes) of United States currency after printing is
completed. The serial numbers can be read while the currency is in
motion. The serial number read would be compared to information in a
data base to verify that the numbers are in the proper sequence. The
system should be an OCR or similar design and must have the ability to
store, compare, and print the above information. All interested
parties are requested to submit descriptive brochures, technical
specifications, location(s) of similar equipment and other relevant
information within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the date of this
notice. The Government will not be obligated to pay for information
generated as a result of this request. This is not a request for
