REDDING, Phone (703)604-2000 The Navy intends to contract with Texas
Instruments, Inc., Dallas, TX for AN/APS-137B(V)5 radar systems. The
radar systems will be provided as government furnished equipment for
the Anti-Surface Warfare Improvement Program (AIP). Radar procurements
include an anticipated buy of 38 AN/APS-137B(V)5 systems, with
variable quantity options which could increase the buy to a maximum of
100 for the AIP and 50 for P-3C reserve aircraft. Supplies and
services for the radar include: non-recurring engineering, data
prototyping, functional/physical configuration audits, technical
manuals, source data development, data collection, contractor
engineering/technical support, ILS, spare and repair parts, support
equipment and auxiliary equipment. Texas Instruments is the designer,
developer and sole manufacturer of the AN/APS-137 radar system and, as
such, as is the only firm that has technical capability and
specialized experience necessary to perform the required effort in a
timely manner. NAVAIRSYSCOM will conduct negotiations with Texas
