Springer, 304/480-6465 Subject to final approval, the Bureau of the Public Debt intends to acquire, on a sole-source basis through IBM Corporation the following FIP software and maintenance thereon for a systems life through September 30, 1997, for operation on an Amdahl 5990 Model 1400, running with MVS/ESA, VTAM, JES2, and CA-ACF-2: LAN Resource Extension & Services (LANRES). Software offered shall be compatible with the Amdahl 5990 Model 1400, IBM 3172 Interconnect Controller or equivalent, MVS/SP (MVS/ESA), version 4.3 or later, TSO/E R2.1 or later, ACF/VTAM version 3.41 for MVS/ESA or later, and NetView version 2.4 or later, and shall possess the following salient characteristics: shall allow end-users to route print files to mainframe printers or LAN-=based printers, and shall allow MVS resources (DASD, printers, etc.) to function as a Novell Server. All affirmative responses must be in writing, must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show compatibility and compliance to all the above requirements, and must be received within 15 calendar days of this notice. No solicitation document is available. If no affirmative written response is received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable item(s)/services is/are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these items/services through the current contractor, a sole-source award will be made.
