COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 19,1995 PSA#1328Contracting Division 6, Code 260000D, Bldg. 00456 Blandy Avenue, Naval
Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA 93555-6001 66 -- PARTICLE IMAGING VELOCIMETRY SYSTEM SOL N68936-95-R-0255 POC
Maggie Green, Contract Specialist, (619) 939-4274 or Patricia West,
Contracting Officer, (619) 939-4276. The Naval Air Warfare Center
Weapons Division, China Lake intends to procure a Particle Imaging
Velocimetry (PIV) System. The system must consist of a complete
turn-key unit for performing PIV in water tunnel, wind tunnel and free
jet combusting and non-combusting flows using both photographic and
charge coupled device (CCD) imaging. It must be capable of measuring 2D
velocity vector fields for velocities from 1cm/sec up to 600 m/sec over
flow planes of 16'' x 16'' down to 2'' x 2''. The system must be based
on a dual cavity Nd-YAG laser of at least 350mJ per pulse per cavity
at 30 Hz repetition rate (per cavity) allowing any time separation
between the two cavity pulses. The system must be capable of handling
reversing flow without directional ambiguity. Directional ambigugty
removal technique must be able to handle flow rates up to 300 m/sec.
System electronic imager(s) must have at least 2000 x 2000 pixel
resolution at up to 2 frames per second and come complete with lenses.
The analysis system must be capable of reducing PIV image data at the
rate of at least 30 vectors per second. Software must have the
following features: selectable pixel resolution, user configurable PIV
analysis grid size, auto and cross correlation capability, automatic
vector validation and interpolation, output of velocity vector field
plots and ASCII data files, output of derived plots including average
speed, spatial derivatives and vector plots of vorticity and strain
rates. The contract will include updates to system software for a
period of one year. The system must include mechanical traverse which
allows positioning of the laser sheet plane (as well as the camera
imaging plane) over a minimum range of 300 mm x 300 mm x 600 mm in x,
y, and z axis. System manuals and training for three people shall be
provided. Requests for the solicitation shall be in writing and may be
sent by facsimile to (619) 927-3488 Attn: M. Green. The request should
include the firm's Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Commercial and
Government Entity (CAGE) Code if one has been assigned. Telephone
requests will not be honored if not followed up in writing. All
responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by
the agency. (0107) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0251 19950418\66-0001.SOL)
