Army Engineer Division, Huntsville is inviting manufacturers to participate during the next two years in field testing of their heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment pertaining to energy saving technology at various Government faqcilities. Participation will begin at any point within the next two years and participation at any site could continue for up to two years. The manufacturers will provide and install their equipment (2 units per site) at no cost to the Government. The contractors may be required to maintain and monitor the systems installed. Specific interests are in the areas of closed loop ground coupled, deep well or area type, or gas driven heat pumps. Other new HVAC technology will be considered. The period of testing will not exceed 2 years. The results of the test are expected to provide information on unit efficiency, operability and maintenance cost. The manufacturer will install two field test units in two identical Government facilities. Operational data will be collected from existing systems in two identical family housing residences. Data collected will be shared between the parties and may be published or released to interested parties upon completion of the test.
