Edwards Air Force Base is seeking sources who are specialized in providing an Automatic Positioning System (APS). The APS is a microprocessor controlled electronic unit that provides precise control in any manual or automatic test environment. The APS is used as a throttle control system in the engine test cell. This unit is hooked directly to the fuel control unit at the engines to provide controlled amounts of fuel flow and thrust. It requires interfacing with several other units such as the translator, stepping motor, encoder, and remote computer system. This system must interface with the Pacer COMET III automated jet engine test system developed by the Air Force Logistics Command, Kelly AFB TX. System consists of; one CPU Board, one Analog Board, one interface board, and five digital boards. System must have ''drop-in'' capability to operate with other automatic systems without the need for specialized hardware and/or software development. Interested contractors with experience in providing equipment should respond to this notice in writing by 15 May 1995 with descriptive literature and/or specifications showing capabilities of providing this equipment. Depending on responses to this synopsis, the requirement may be set aside for Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), or reserved for the 8(a) program.
