COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 17, 1995 PSA#1326U.S. Army Tank-Automotive And Armaments Command,, Acquisition Center
(AMSTA-AQ-DS),, Warren, MI 48397-5000 A -- TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATOR SOL DAAE0795RR067 POC For a Solicitation
copy, call 810/574-6802 or 6807. For information on this procurement,
call Jean Paul Marcoux (810) 574-6793 This procurement is for a change
to contract DAAE07-93 C-R155 with Barnes & Reinecke Inc. The objective
of the demonstrator III program is to improve the mobility and
performance capability of the Army tactical wheeled vehicles by
incorporating emerging truck component Technologies into a technology
demonstrator heavy transport truck. Under the existing demonstrator III
contract, Barnes & Reinecke, Inc., (BRI) has designed the Tech Demo III
heavy transport and procured the major components selected for this pls
vehicle. BRI is currently funded to build-up all major components
subsystems and fit them to the GFE test bed truck prior to shipment of
the components to TACOM (for assenbly in-House in the workshop in
building 200) on a second testbed vehicle. This effort will expand the
BRI effort to include fabrication of minor components (brackets,
linkages, controls, hoses & wiring) and complete build-up of the Demo
III vehicle. Bri will deliver the completed vehicle to TACOM
eliminating the need for any in-House fabrication at TACOM or the need
for propulsion group to provide components and technical support to
the shop area in building 200. This follow-on action will be negotiated
on a sole source basis with Barnes & Reinecke Inc., and will be
executed by a modification to their existing contract. See NOTE:
