R -- TRANSITION CENTER, HICKAM AFB, HAWAII POC Contact Olalani Kamakau, 808/449-6860, ext. 201. Sources sought for possible contract for a transition center. Scope of work includes providing career exploration classes and counseling, career and educational assessments, job referrals, and other associated direct services for youth 12-18. Program will be based in local high school with outreach services for nearby intermediate school. Components of program: use of skills and interest inventories, automated job search programs, career shadowing experiences, workshop instruction, field trips, job fairs, data gathering and reporting and evaluation. Personnel must meet all requirements pertinent to background/security investigations which apply according to state and federal statutes regarding working with youth under age 18. Contractor shall provide a program coordinator, counselor and information and referral (I&R) specialist. Coordinator and counselor must have minimum of bachelor's degree in human or social services or related field, with minimum one year experience in counseling, teaching, career guidance or human resource management, and basic computer competence with Excel and ProComm Plus programs. Coordinator must have additional year of management experience. I&R must have same computer skills and minimum two years of general office experience.
