Brightseat Road, Landover, MD 20785 B -- TECHNOLOGY STUDY SOL RFI95-2 POC Kaye Klinker, Contracting
Officer, (202) 707-8608. The Geography and Map Division of the Library
of Congress has accepted on loan for testing and evaluation, a
large-format, flatbed, color-scanner from Tangent Engineering, Inc., of
Englewood, Colorado. The Division will use this scanner to develop and
test procedures for the scanning of maps to be included in the
National Digital Library Initiative of the Library of Congress. The
Geography and Map Division considers flatbed technology to be the most
appropriate to use for the scanning of rare and valuable maps. Other
companies which make similar large-format, flatbed, color-scanners that
can accept a map or chart of approximately 24'' x 30'' in size that may
wish to make its equipment available at no cost for similar testing are
invited to contact Kaye Klinker, Contracting Officer, (202) 707-8608 to
obtain information about the procedures under RFI95-2. (0102) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0017 19950413\B-0006.SOL)
