(513)366-2055 The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) at the
Large Lakes Research Station (LLRS) in Grosse Ile, MI is seeking to
acquire an automated mercury samples preparation and analysis system.
It is to be used for the quantitative analysis of ambient total mercury
concentrations in sediment, fish, and other materials. Because of
limited laboratory technical personnel available for analysis of
samples for mercury, the principal requirements and the salient
specifications of the equipment are as follows: (1) completely
automated for both unattended rapid digestion of samples and unattended
rapid analysis of samples and (2) sensitive enough (a detection limit
equivalent to 20 ng/L) for analysis of total mercury concentrations
found in ambient biota and sediments. Other requirements include: (1)
Spare parts kits for analyzer and digester, (2) A one-year
parts-and-service warranty on all hardware and software, (3) Free
software upgrades for one year, and (4) All digester hardware and
software shall be installed at USEPA by the Contractor. The proposed
acquisition shall include the following: (A) Firm Fixed Price - FFP.
(B) Delivery of equipment within 90 days of contract award. All
responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be evaluated and
considered by EPA. All requests for the solicitation must be in
