COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 13,1995 PSA#1324US Army Communications Electronic Command (CECOM), Command, Control
Systems Integration Directorate (C2SID), Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000 70 -- MISSION PLANNING SYSTEM POC Ms. Gayle Grant, ATTN:
AMSEL-RD-C2-SPO, (908)544-3928. This is a market survey to identify
existing mission planning/rehearsal systems. On February 24, 1995, the
Director, Army Digitization Office and the TRADOC, Deputy Chief of
Staff, Combat Developers directed a joint CECOM-Team Fort Monmouth and
Battle Command Battle Lab (BCBL) effort to integrate Battlefield
Visualization efforts and establish Army requirements for the digitized
battlefield. To accomplish this C2SID is conducting an assessment of
current mission planning/rehearsal system functionality, demonstrating
functionality to users, and developing an integrated prototype for
user validation. The proposed system should support planning,
rehearsal, execution and monitoring of the battlefield. The proposed
system requirements include, as a minimum, accept multiple terrain and
imagery database inputs (DMA standard, satellite imagery, high
altitude/UAV photography); display accurate terrain representation
(2D/3D dynamic perspective with drive through/flythrough) and the
ability to overlay grid, obstacles, annotation and features; scaleable
by echelon (higher echelon low resolution/large area, lower echelon
high resolution/smaller area); interoperable with Command and Control
systems, simulations and simulators; and capability of displaying
operational graphics overlaid upon background map and/or imagery to
include, but not limited to, courses of action development/selection,
red/blue force geolocations/status, footprinting, battlefield
obscurants to include smoke, fog and weather. Firms wishing to
participate in this survey should send a written description,
characteristics, and a statement stating the respondent can, in fact,
supply the Army with the hardware and software necessary to assess
current system functionality. Requests should be sent to Director, U.S.
