Y -- CONSTRUCTION DREDGING; 28-FOOT AND 30-FOOT PROJECT; FORT PIERCE HARBOR, FLORIDA SOL DACW17-94-B-0070 DUE 042595 POC Contract Specialist, Robert Mosteller, (904) 232-3739 ADMENDED: The existing entrance channel, interior channel, turning basin and berthing areas will be deepened and widened to 30 feet by 400 feet, 28 feet by 250 feet, 28 feet by 1,100 feet in diameter, and 28 feet deep, respectively. A new access channel will be constructed immediately to the north of the existing turning basin to 20 feet deep by 250 feet wide by 1,250 feet long. In construction, there will be 1 or 2 feet allowable overdepth below the required depth in the channel as designated. The work entails dredging and disposing of approximately 735,000 cubic yards of material. The material excavated will be disposed as designated in two sites. (1) Ocean disposal and (2) Beach disposal. Also, a mitigation plan requires construction of 12 acres of shallow lagoon on Coon Island by excavating approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material with disposal in open water environmental disposal site south of Causeway Island, and to construct 4 acres of artificial reef south of The Causeway Island. *In addition there will be one option bid item to the Contract; to construct approximately 4 acres of artificial reef south of the Causeway Island.* Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000.
