This project consists of tree thinning; the removal of undesired and excess trees on approximately 400 acres to create a healthy residual stand of trees. Additional work will include slash treatment: lopping approximately 373 acres and handpiling created slash on approximately 27 acres. The project area is in Northern Arizona on the North Kaibab Ranger District, Kaibab National Forest. The project area is approximately forty five miles south southwest of Fredonia, Arizona. The project area can be accessed by using State Highway 67 to Forest Service Road 212 and then FD's 212, 282, 262, and 640 into the project area. Contract time is 34 calendar days. Anticipated start work date is July 17, 1995. A pre-bid meeting will be held two weeks prior to bid opening. Estimated solicitation issue date is May 1 with bid opening 30 days later.
