Cerius II Molecular Software - (1 ea) - The item to be purchased is a software system used for the molecular level modeling of materials. The software shall be used for prediction of materials properties, elucidating molecular-level origins of material properties and assisting in the analysis of material structure. The software shall be applicable to all classes of materials including polymers, ceramics, metal and biomaterials. The software shall consist of several modules which work together to produce a suite funtionality. The modules to be acquired are: Visulaizer, Crystal Builder, Surface Builder, Interface Builder, Polymer Builder, Armorphous Builder, Minimizer, Dynamics, Open Force Field, Force Field Editor, Polymer Properties, Blends, Mopac, Gaussian Interface, Mechanical Properties and Sorption. This software shall be designed to address a full range of materials research problems. FOB Destination. It is the intent of the Government to award a contract on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. Firms that recognize and can produce the required item described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer, and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on any information provided, is solely within the descretion of the Government.
