58 -- JOINT TACTICAL INFORMATION DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (JTIDS) CLASS 2M TERMINAL LOW RATE INITIAL PRODUCTION SOL F19628-95-R-0019 POC Paul El. Canham, Contracting Officer, 617-377-9317; Gabriel M. HQ Electronic Systems Center intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) F19628-95-R-0019 to General Electric Company (GEC) - Marconi Electronic Systems Corporation and RFP F19628-95-R-0020 to Rockwell International Corporation, Collins Avionics & Communications Division (CACD) for the Joint Tactical Information Distribution Systems (JTIDS) Class 2M Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP). Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) a solicitation will be issued to GEC, 164 Totowa road, Wayne NJ, 07470-0975 and CACD, 350 Collins Road N.E., Cedar Rapids, IA 52498. Two separate sole source contracts will be awarded for the Class 2M LRIP acquisition. The Class 2M LRIP contract(s) will procure up to thirty-five (35) Class 2M JTIDS terminals. The period of performance for this effort is thirty-six (36) months after contract award. On the basis of the previous history of the program, the Electronic Systems Center intends to issue RFP F19628-95-R-0019 for the build, less the RTSA, and integration of the terminal to GEC-Marconi Systems, and RFP F19628-95-R-0020 for the build of the RTSA to CACD-Rockwell. The statutory authority to do so is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) which states ''only a limited number of responsible sources and no other supplies or services will satisfy the requirements.'' These two RFPs are anticipated to be issued approximately 24 APR 1995 and will remain open for forty-five (45) days. Contract Award is planned for 01 NOV 1995 Delivery of the terminals is scheduled to commence twenty-four (24) months after contract award and be completed twelve (12) months later.
