Coleman, (703)704-3360 Sources are sought by the US Army
Tank-Automotive Command's Mobility Technology Center-Belvoir for a
small size, portable, commercially available Chemical Agent Water
Monitor (CAWM). The intended use of this system is to detect and
identify various types of chemical agent contaminants in potential
sources of treated and untreated drinking water. The system should be
sensitive and versatile enough to detect/identify and measure the
amounts of cyanides, lewisite, mustard, nerve agents, and T-2 toxins in
drinking water. The concentrations of contaminants, for long and short
term consumption, are specified in the Tri- -service Standards for
water quality and in the revised Army Technical Bulletin No. MED 577

SURVEILLANCE OF FIELD WATER SUPPLIES. Copies of the standards will be
provided on request. The system should be sufficiently rugged to
operate in forward areas of the battlefields. It must be capable of
stand alone operation and to provide test results on site. It also
should be compact, lightweight, easy-to-use, and capable of meeting the
military requirements for transportability, NBC survivability, human
factors, and operability in all climate categories. The initial
information can be provided in the format of a Technical Data Sheet,
Technical Bulletin or Performance Data Sheet and should include name,
model number, and operating specifications. This data will be used to
evaluate the potential of the system to meet military reqirements. The
Government shall not incur any cost for this information. No contract
