Systems Command has a requirement for the development of and
fabrication of prototype mounts for use on surface ship equipments
which isolate shock and acoustic transmission in a single compact unit.
It is anticipated this procurement will be directed to Newport News as
sole source as a result of its past work in similar mounts for
submarine use. Key requirements follow: mitigation of UNDEX loading to
below the 10g/60msec half-sine pulse spectra level, mitigation of
acoustic noise by 20 dB at 20 Hz, continuous operation at 150F
temperatures, static load capacities to 10,000 lbs., mount excursion
limited to 2.5 inches, service life minimum of 15 years, no performance
degradation in continuous seaway motion, and other requirements. See
