Work includes disassembly, inspection, removal, replacement or repair
of worn parts, reassembly, installation and testing of dewatering
pump, lead paint removal and incidental related work. Original pump
manufacturer, S. Morgan Smith Company of York, Pennsylvania, is no
longer in business. All materials and parts shall be fabricated equal
to or better than original components. The pump is an axial flow pump
with a capacity of 115,000 GPM (AVE)s/167,000 GPM (MAX) at 55 feet
head. Motor type is General Electric Synchronous Motor No. 5640802
(Type TS) with 1250HP at 600 RPM, and power of 2200 volts, 256 AMPS
maximum. Must have successfully overhauled pump systems of the same
type and design, or able to obtain firm contractual agreement with a
subcontractor having such required experience. Contract period is
approximately 270 calendar days. This is a firm-fixed price contact,
estimated range is between $100,000 and $250,000. This project is being
considered for 100% Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns.
Interested SDB concerns should notify this office in writing,
Attention: Ms. Deanne Takushi, Code 0212DT, of their intention to bid
the project as a prime contractor within 15 days from date of this
notice. This notification must include a positive statement of
eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business
concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds and specific
information which demonstrates the capability to perform this type of
work. Complete information concerning management experience, experience
in overhauling pumps, and financial status should be submitted with
references. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns,
this solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis without
further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from
all business concerns as well as from SDB concerns. The IFB and
technical plans and specifications will be available on or about April
26, 1995, and will be provided until supply is exhausted. Written and
