GEOPHYSICAL OBSERVATORIES (AGO) Contact Point, Kurt E. Fidino.
Antarctic Support Associates (ASA) under contract with the National
Science Foundation is seeking sources interested in providing
operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the Automatic Geophysical
Observatories (AGO) which are currently located at four remote
antarctic field sites. The O&M Services shall be in support of the
United States Antarctic Program (USAP). The AGO systems are unmanned,
propane powered, scientific data collection centers which require
annual O&M Services. The O&M Services required shall include deployment
to McMurdo Station, Antarctica, and remote antarctic field sites;
possible purchase of spare parts for the AGO systems; maintenance of
the AGO thermoelectric generators; collection, and transport of
scientific data; maintenance and calibration of on-board scientific
equipment; installation of propane fuel pallets; monthly operations
monitoring of the AGO systems via argos satellite data; and maintenance
and calibration of data acquisition/data control units. For further
