Call Max Swilling (404-347-2699) for technical information and questions. This procurement is limited to helicopter operators located in the States of AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, VA. Award consideration will be given to firms loated near a National Forest located in one of the above states or an adjoining state, if helicopter is located near a National Forest in one of the above states. The purpose in limiting operators to these states is because use is on an ``as needed'' basis with no use guaranteed. Other Forest Service Regions will advertise for similar services for the states covered by that Region. Service is to provide one or more helicopters (Type 3, having 4-8 seats and weighing less than 6,000 pounds) with pilot and fuel service vehicle with driver. Use will be on a ``call-when-needed'' basis for fire suppression, project work and administrative flights. Operators must be currently certified under FAA Parts 133, 135 and 137. Some equipment required includes a variable capacity bucket commensurate with the aircraft's lifting capability; dual controls; 9600 channel VHF FM aeronautical radio system meeting Forest Service requirements; GPS or Loran navigation system. Contract period will be for one year with two renewal options to be exercised at the Government's discretion. This solicitation is not set-aside for small business concerns. (090)
