The synopsis was originally listed in Group 70 instead of Group 60. The Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, has a requirement for (a) 1,260 ST simplex pigtails (11 ft), (b) 1,260 ST simplex pigtails (22 ft), and (c) 724 ST duplex patch cords (15 ft). The pigtails and patch cords must have an ST-type compatible connector end with ceramic ferrule. The fiber type must be FDDI Physical layer Medium Dependent (PMD) X3T9.5/84-48 Rev 8 compliant. It must also be FOIRL ANSI/IEEE 802.3 compliant. It must be multimode type with 62.5/125 micrometer (core/cladding) diameter, buffered to at least 900 micrometers and protected by an outer jacket. The fiber cable must be suitable for general purpose use. It is anticipated that the Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be released on or about 17 April 1995, bids will be due 30 days after the IFB is released.
